“But no one earns God’s righteousness. It can only be transferred when we no longer rely on our own works, but believe in the one who powerfully declares the ungodly to be righteous in his eyes. It is faith that transfers God’s righteousness into your account!”

There was a word picture someone shared with me years ago, that caused me to understand Grace.
She showed me a lifeguard at the waters edge, watching as a friend of his struggled to stay above water.
He was drowning.
As he fought and flipped and panicked, the friends wondered in amazement at the lifeguard doing nothing.
And then, they watched their friend go under.
At that moment, the lifeguard jumped in to the friend’s rescue and pulled him up out of the water.
After the rescue, the friend’s were perplexed as to what took the lifeguard so long.
The lifeguard explained that if he would have tried saving the drowning man while he was flailing around, he would have taken them both down.
I had misplaced Grace, at that time in my life.
Yet, I was a preacher of it.
I was one of the ones Paul would have called bewitched.
“O you foolish and thoughtless and superficial Galatians, who has bewitched you [that you would act like this], to whom—right before your very eyes—Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified [in the gospel message]? This is all I want to ask of you: did you receive the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying [the requirements of] the Law, or was it the result of hearing [the message of salvation and] with faith [believing it]?”
Galatians 3:1-2 AMP
The True Gospel is JESUS + nothing.
It’s a very subtle spell-
Just a few requirements for the blessing.
Just a few things that you need to get right.
But, Truth is, righteousness is a gift.
Gifts aren’t earned, they are received.
If the devil can’t get you to not receive Jesus, He will try to trick you in giving up your free Gift.
So, I struggled.
Like Paul said, I started in the Spirit, but began trying to make myself better by law.
It was that flailing around in the water.
If you don’t know how to rightly divide The Word by the Spirit’s help,
You can begin drowning in it!
I’ve mentioned before knowing alone, Durant sage you, believing does.
But God… watched over me and rescued me.
He delivered me out of many waters, as David said. Psalm 18
For Jesus’ sake, I’m righteous!
He saved me.
If you’re drowning today, reasoning says, fight harder.
Righteousness says, give yourself up.
Let Jesus Rescue you.
Put your Trust back into His Grace.
“I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].”
