State Of Grace

Some friends of ours were vacationing, and driving through multiple states at the time I read this, and so I thought of them.

“Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power].”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There are times during extended travel that we have to change states.

I was drawn to this particular State

of Grace, today.

Sometimes we just need to change states in our mind.

I have been battling Missouri Weather in my mind.

Take today’s weather for instance.

I dressed for Sunny and 57-

Last time I checked, that was the forecast.

Reality… 43 and freezing in a tshirt and light jacket.

However I wasn’t prepared-

I wasn’t prepared!

I was cold.

Last week my running was also arrested by snow and freezing rain.

It’s all melted now, but I’m 16 miles behind.

Today as I walked the chicken slops up through the slop-

Holy Spirit began to coach.

“Do you think the 1/2 marathon you are wanting to train for will be rescheduled because of the rain?”

He nudged.

I know not, because a runner friend of mine ran her first marathon in the brutal cold and rain.

Another friend of mine once shared with me, that only I, can control my weather.

I can decide to run, whether or not, the weather is sunny and 57.

That’s how I enjoy running, but that’s not always the case.

I also like sharing the Word when it’s easy and sunny.

But today, The Word is coming through brutal and cold whether.

So, I have a decision.

Let me get back to the prepared part.

Whether the weather guy changed the forecast last night in my sleep, and I missed it,

Or whether God decided to keep it a bit nippy a little longer,

I wasn’t prepared.

Remember Grace, is a state.

It’s the State we want to be in, no matter the weather.

Grace doesn’t get frustrated, it just rests in what Jesus accomplished for us to be clothed in.

It’s always Sunny and 57 in the state of Grace.

You can always be clothed in humility there.

Like I said, today, I wasn’t prepared for the harsh reality of the state I was in-

My fleshly mind.

I showed up dressed in less than needed.

But Thanks Be to God, we can make the proper adjustments.

I’m crossing the State of Grace border in my heart.

I’m starting to see the Son again.
