“And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified and exalted. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest.”
John 12:23-24 AMP
This is the answer from Jesus when Phillip and Andrew wanted to show Him off to the world.
The Greeks had also come to the feast wanting to see the showing of Jesus.
I’m never surprised, yet still amazed that The Holy Spirit would back the thread of my thoughts last night, with The Word today.
The Greatest Show… the Greatest of Miracles…
Was not what Jesus was doing when he was alive- healing the multitudes, turning water to wine, multiplying food….
It was the miracle of His dying for the whole world.
The whole world.
Not just those that had been following-believing and applauding Him-
But those who would one day see the Light.
Or even, those who never will.
He died for those who had spit, scourged and beat him, and watched His bloody body hang on the cross..
Later to find out, it was their cross.
It’s not even easy for us to boldly tell others about Jesus.
Moreover lay hands on them to use His gifts while we’re alive-
But to die for someone?
That was and will always be, The Greatest Show-
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
So, I want to point to the death.
To The Perfect will of God for Jesus, and for us.
Because He lives, we can die-
To ourselves, to bring His life to others.
This is… THE GREATEST SHOW.
