There’s a movie that my family and I watch where a couple of guys plant what they think to be a variety of vegetables.
When it’s full grown, they realize it all looks like….
Corn.
Even though each row is labeled different, the stalks say what it really is!
So. I ponder this verse today:
“for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever. For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
Romans 8:13-14 AMP
The Word says in Galatians 5, what the fruit of the Spirit should look like.
I’m seeing a lot of what I think is growth-in my life,
But I have to ask myself if my fruit lines up with my label.
Busyness is not always fruitfulness.
Those building the Tower of Babel were busy.
But it wasn’t a fruit of the Spirit.
Fruit comes from roots.
Where is my action rooted?
Is my leading rooted in God’s Glory and Provision or my own understanding and gain?
Holy Spirit is such a gentleman.
His leading will always produce an abundance of God like crop in our lives if we will simply yield to Him.
