“The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 1:29 AMP
John knew…
But knowing, is that enough?
It was enough for the connection to Jesus for John,
But his leadership was paralyzed by just knowing.
Notice this:
“Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,”
John 1:35 AMP
I’m so grateful God is Love,
And Love, is Patient.
This says again, the next day.
He gave them time to see.
“and he looked at Jesus as He walked along, and said, “Look! The Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.”
John 1:36-37 AMP
The Lamb of God took our sin away.
That sacrifice is acceptable to God.
John stayed there-
Knowing that Jesus was The Sacrifice.
But these two disciples, of John, followed.
And they became the first disciples.
But it’s amazing to me that Jesus didn’t ask them to see what He wanted…
He turned and asked them what they wanted.
Discipleship is agreeing on a new level with God that what is in our heart, is motivated By looking to Him and believing He is not just a sacrifice, but LIFE.
“Where are you staying?”
They said.
Probably not the easiest thing to leave John.
I don’t know that he even said it was ok.
But he stayed and they WENT-
To be where He was.
He is Alive.
And live at whatever chapter and verse you find Him.
He is Life.
He is speaking.
So why would they or we settle anymore for second hand knowledge?
Brothers and Sisters, what do you want?
Are you satisfied by just knowing He is your sacrifice?
Or do you want to know where He is?
Right now..
In this moment.
His eyes are already on you.
He’s turned His Face towards you.. asking you this same question…
