I’m Over it-

I went though the first few Chapters of the Book of Acts the other evening,

And I was amazed to see that the same mindset-

Of being delivered out of our circumstances,

Didn’t originate with us.

The disciples had walked with Jesus.

At this point, (Acts 1) they had now been eating dinner and hanging out with Him again, for forty days after He was raised from death,

And still,

their question was-

“Is it time for you to take us out of this mess?”

My own emphasis added.

This is what they really asked;

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And here was the Response;

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Don’t we ask for the same thing?

God take the Coronavirus, and the bills, and the hecklers, and the corruption…

And I hear Jesus saying the same to us today as He did back then to them…

“I won’t promise you that those things won’t happen,”

As a matter of fact,

He said they would. (John 16)

BUT, He said:

I can PROMISE you Power OVER those things.

Brothers and Sisters, that’s where we have to set our minds.

On things Above!

On Our position and Authority in Christ.

We have to stop setting our minds on being under the circumstances-

That Jesus paid for us to be over.

Our Pastor gave the example yesterday of David.

Because the majority of His young life was spent meditating and focusing on God,

His perception was clear.

When He showed up to the scene,

(The battle between the Israelites and Goliath)

He called it for what it really was.

A smoke show.

The enemy wasn’t really Goliath, as much as it was the taunting of lies and threats for a period of days upon days.

Sound familiar?

Well, David had heard enough!

“Who is this uncircumcised Philistine? He said.

“How dare He threaten the children of the Most High God?”

David had already seen what God had done for Him, concerning protection, by delivering Him from the lion, and the bear.

He, through the power of God, always Overcame.

Notice God didn’t deliver him by taking him away from those circumstances, but He gave Him power OVER them!

And a Greater than David has come-

Jesus, our Faithful High Priest was subject to the same storm that His disciples were in,

But He rose up and spoke OVER it.

Jesus told us,

In this world, you will have tribulation,

But be of Good Cheer,

I have OVERCOME the world!

I dare you to declare with me today;

“I’m OVER IT!”
