This weekend my husband’s Aunt received a heart transplant.
It was someone else’s heart.
It’s now living in and through her.
One body to another.
You see where I’m going with this?
We also, as born again trustees in Jesus,
Have undergone a heart transplant.
Although some may not be aware, as it happened by the Spirit, like Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3,
It happened.
One heart, from one man, into another.
I pondered on Sandy having different thoughts and emotions because of this new heart she’s received-
If out of the heart flow all issues of life, according to scripture?
Will she think like this other person?
I have heard testimonies of such things.
But what I do know according to Truth, is that the new heart, He transplanted into you and I,
has to be heeded to, in order to carry out this newness of life.
Your brain didn’t get born again!
You have to remind your will and emotions of what the new heart is trying to accomplish.
You can stuff it, so to speak.
Your brain has to be re-wired with the new heart manual, The Word.
And not just the Word….
The new covenant.
New heart, new covenant!
Jesus issued in the new way of God’s doing things.
He fulfilled the Old part.
Now we have His very heart.
His totality.
Not David’s or Elijah’s, or even John the Baptist.
But Jesus..
The Author of all of those “greats” we’ve wanted to be like.
We no longer have to compare ourselves by others,
Because the Greater One has transplanted His very heart…
The heart of the law…
And,
The Answer to it,
In us!
What a day to wake up to that reality.
Christ in you The Hope of Glory.
“I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
