Volunteer

“shepherd and guide and protect the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not [motivated] for shameful gain, but with wholehearted enthusiasm;”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This made me think of a couple of things.

First, the piggyback of yesterday’s train of thought:

Open gym requires a volunteer mindset.

It wasn’t a get on the team free card.

We showed up because we wanted to.

Second, I’ve been to several meetings where I have volunteered to help, and wanted to volunteer the next time because I simply loved being there.

In the presence of God.

Watching His Manifest Glory.

So, in light of this thought, I’m reminded of all the people my voice has touched over the years.

Those who’s voices have touched mine by a simple act of volunteering my time and resources.

Volunteers have that whole hearted enthusiasm because they choose to be there.

They aren’t paid to be there!

Someone manipulated or begged to be somewhere is NOT a volunteer.

I cackle as I think of all the so called volunteer church members that have been drugged to church!

Someone under the influence of someone else.

God is looking for a whosoever, who wants what He has to offer.

We can volunteer the Truth to someone, but we can’t volunteer them to hear it!

Everything about the Kingdom is a decision.

God never wanted robots.

He simply wants a yes, from our heart.

I pray that today, our hearts are stirred to see the why behind what we do for His Glory.

I learned the hard way, that the enemy can con us into thinking God owes us something for our service to Him.

How can He owe, when He ALREADY overpaid a debt we could never pay?
